decent drum notation software

does anyone out there know of a good program for drum notation.

i've got cubase, finale and sibelius. but i'm loosing my mind trying to do the simplest things.

i'm looking for software that idealy just notates drum stuff.

Can't you do it in the MIDI editor in Cubase? I thought that there was a way, when playing with Channel 10 (percussion channel in MIDI) to have drum notation... maybe i am wrong, i will have to go and check that out for sure.

me too chris. i have finale and try to write out a bar of flippin 8th notes and its a nightmare.

just need to write out exercises etc but it takes too long....

If you know how to use the speedy entry tool in finale and make use of 2 layers, drum notation comes out pretty good, without any hitches. Just don't play it back... There MIDI map is fubared.

for cubase using the midi editer is no problem, however, the score feature is difficult to deal with.

all of these programs have screwed up stem settings. i've gotten as far as editing the layout for the "drumset" defaults but they don't help with stems.

plus the fact that even if you only have hihat, kick and snare selected for the eligable instruments to use, you can wind up with too, many notes, way above and below the staff, and more than one note on a stem on the same line ect.

i'm truly shocked than sibelius/finale ect have default drum setting that have kick stems facing up. hihat stems facing down ect.
